New Hospital Plans

FROM THE PRESIDENT OF HUGGINS HOSPITAL:

I am pleased to report that on April 19, 2007 the State of New Hampshire approved the Hospital’s Certificate of Need (CON) application for a new two story, 101,000 square foot, $51.6 million facility. The construction of a new hospital for Wolfeboro and the surrounding towns is a significant step forward in meeting the rapidly changing health care needs of our community.  

We take enormous pride in our hospital, the services we provide, the staff that provides them, and the rich legacy of care that has been developed here in the eastern Lakes Region of New Hampshire.

As a community hospital, our goal is to ensure that our current and future patients, their families and physicians have access to the most up-to-date and comprehensive health care services.

The new hospital will:

•  Improve availability, access and technology to physician’s specialized testing and services.

• Expand essential and medical specialist care locally to accommodate a growing population.

• Provide clinical care departments that conform with new quality of care guidelines, improved technology and safety standards.

• Conform to new HIPPA standards for patient privacy.

•  Attract and retain new physicians and hospital staff to meet future needs.

•  Meet our shifting demographics demand for expanded services.

The new facility will mean convenience for our community. Combining the hospital's rich history with modern technology and medical innovation, our patients will continue to receive the care they have come to trust, in a building that meets new health care, technology, and regulatory standards.
