Erik Dutson

Erik Dutson, MD, FACS

Dr. Dutson is a surgeon at Wolfeboro General Surgery. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Dutson earned his Medical Degree from Eastern Virginia School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in General Surgery from the same school, earning the position of Chief Resident. He continued his education as Postdoctoral Fellow in Minimally Invasive Surgery, Robotics and Virtual Reality Surgery from the Université Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg, France, earning a Diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery.

Prior to joining Huggins Hospital, Dr. Dutson held positions at UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine, including Section Chief of Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery for the Division of Surgery, Clinical Professor of Surgery for the UCLA Department of Surgery, Surgical Director of the UCLA Center for Obesity and Metabolic Health and Executive Director of the UCLA Center for Advanced Surgical and Interventional Technology.

Dr. Dutson is a leader in his field of expertise and has shared his knowledge with many aspiring surgeons as a professor and a preceptor. Dr. Dutson has served on national committees and has participated in projects such as the NASA Roadmap to Mars, researching human factors in deep space.  He is widely published in medical journals and abstracts.

Outside of work, Dr. Dutson enjoys cooking, hiking, hunting and fishing. He lives locally with his wife and son.
