James Wilton, DPM, FAENS, FACFAS

James Wilton, DPM, FAENS, FACFAS is a podiatrist with Huggins Hospital Orthopedic office, bringing more than 30 years of clinical experience in foot and ankle care. He specializes in diagnosing and treating complex chronic pain conditions of the lower extremities, particularly for patients who have not responded to conventional medical treatment. Dr. Wilton has a special focus on lower extremity peripheral nerve surgery in addition to comprehensive foot and ankle surgical care.

Dr. Wilton received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the former Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and completed his residency in Foot and Ankle Surgery at Montgomery Hospital in Norristown, Pennsylvania. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Marine Sciences, from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. He also completed a microbiology internship with the Food and Drug Administration under Dr. Walter Hill, Chief of the E. Coli Repository Lab. Dr. Wilton later went on to further his leadership training through
participation in the New Hampshire Physician Leadership Development Program.

For more than two decades, Dr. Wilton led a volunteer surgical team traveling to Ecuador, performing peripheral nerve and other foot and ankle procedures for patients affected by Hansen’s disease, helping restore function and relieve pain in both upper and lower extremities.

Dr. Wilton also served as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Naval Reserve and served active duty during Desert Storm.
