Cardiology office visits available soon:

Huggins Hospital is launching telemedicine-based cardiology office visits, making cardiology available locally. 

In this new model, patients come to Huggins Hospital for their cardiology appointment. They are welcomed and supported by a dedicated Huggins Hospital staff member who remains available throughout the visit - coordinating care, assisting with technology and ensuring questions are answered. The cardiologist joins the visit, virtually, conducting a comprehensive consultation including a physical assessment with the help of special medical equipment and technology. The cardiologist works closely with the on-site team to develop a care plan tailored to each patient.

While technology plays a central role in this new cardiology service, the heart of the experience remains deeply human.

You can connect with your Huggins Hospital Primary Care Provider to get a referral to the Huggins Hospital Cardiology service once it is up-and-running. We will update this section with contact information as soon as it is available.

Office visits begin mid-October of 2026. Cardiac and Pulmonary testing has remained available at Huggins Hospital (see below).

Cardio-Pulmonary Testing:

In order to assess your heart’s health more accurately, your healthcare provider may decide that some special tests would be helpful. Your provider may refer you to Huggins Hospital’s Cardio-Pulmonary Department. We want you to feel safe and comfortable before, during, and after your test, so, in addition to the explanation your physician will provide, the Cardio-Pulmonary Department staff members are here to answer all your concerns, carefully describing what you can expect at each point in the testing process.

Huggins Cardio-Pulmonary Department provides several types of non-invasive tests, including:

• Cardiac Stress Testing
• Exercise/Treadmill Stress Testing
• Stress Echocardiogram
• Lexiscan Sestamibi/Sestamibi/Nuclear Stress Test

Cardiac Testing: 

• EKG/Electrocardiogram
• Echocardiogram
• Other Tests Include: Holter Monitors, Zio Patches, Mobile Cardiac Telemetry, and Loop Recorder Monitoring 

Pulmonary Testing:

• Pulmonary Function Tests
• Spirometry

Specially-trained physicians supervise all of these tests and experienced cardiologists will evaluate the imaging generated by these tests.
